Sustainable cooking by Fern Green, a book with a future!

Protecting the planet by cooking is a topical resolution. Many Chefs are making new moves and implementing new eco-responsible habits. You too at home, in your kitchen, you can put into practice simple things, common sense practices such as not wasting, eating local and seasonal and reducing your waste. Sophie Juby has unearthed the book for you: Fern Green’s Sustainable Cooking.

Sophie Juby: This book is interesting because it takes stock of all these good practices and above all, it poses the problems in a simple and readable way. For example, Fern Green tells us that dairy farming contributes to global warming and vegetable drinks are less impactful for the earth.

But then how to best consume? By reorienting our consumption little by little, such as replacing cow’s milk with more sustainable goat’s or sheep’s milk (that’s good, here in Aquitaine, it’s very easy to find some). You can also prepare your vegetable drinks yourself.

Sophie Juby: I also liked the book for its organizational advice. Fern Green addresses the subject of tidying up our cupboards, our fridge and reminds us of the basics of batch cooking.
