His uncompromising texts made the mullahs tremble to the point of receiving the death penalty. Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi saw his death sentence overturned by the Iranian Supreme Court on Saturday June 22. “We know that the fight is not over, but knowing that there is no longer this sword of Damocles over his head is a huge relief”confided his lawyer Dylan Slama.

With 2 million subscribers, Toomaj Salehi is a star in his country. At the end of 2022, he gets involved with women who demonstrate for their freedom. He was imprisoned until he was released, but after testifying about his conditions of detention, he was imprisoned again and sentenced to death.
