Supermarkets are stepping up initiatives to attract consumers despite rising prices. Between loyalty cards and an anti-inflation shield with shopping vouchers, care helping hands really worth it?
In a supermarket, there are dozens of promotions. Faced with rising prices, supermarkets are competing with each other to attract consumers. From the entrance, a supermarket distributes the catalog of the day’s promotions. “I feel like everything is increasing so hopefully that will help a bit”said a woman. For a couple of young parents, these promotions are become essential because with 1,800 euros in income, the end of the month is difficult.
At the checkout, they get a new offer: 5 euros reduction to be used in the form of vouchers on condition of presenting the loyalty card. “It’s always 5 euros more to put in our basket”assures the young man. Supermarkets want to stay competitive against the competition. All brands now offer offers. In one brand, the operation is even called “anti-inflation shield”. Customers are satisfied with promotional offers.
