Vouchers, promotions, reductions… Supermarkets are increasing their bargains, Thursday, May 19, to attract customers, while inflation continues.

Thursday, May 19, brands are stepping up their efforts to attract customers, despite inflation. Some offer a reduction of 5% from 50 euros of purchase. “Yes, it’s attractive, especially now with purchasing power issues,” says a woman. The only condition to benefit from the discount is to have the store’s loyalty card.

Another supermarket offers a catalog full of promotions. “It’s true that these kinds of promotions are what interests us. This is what will make us say that we are going to go to one store or another”, assures a man. “It’s part of a promotional policy, which has always existed (…) but which has rather intensified lately”, indicates Philippe Lonjon, manager of the Auchan store, in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne). A last sign monitors a hundred products and compensates for the increase in their prices with purchase vouchers.
