Summer series: Venant Sochon, 91, ardent supporter of Stade Lavallois footballers

France Bleu Mayenne continues its summer series this Thursday, August 11, 2022. Meeting with a personality from Nord-Mayenne: Venant Sochon, 91, one of the oldest supporters of the Stade Lavallois Mayenne Football Club. Since 1987, he hasn’t missed a match and is getting off to a good start this year in Ligue 2.

It is one of the living memories of Stade Lavallois, one of its most ardent supporters. For many months, Venant Sochon has been in the news. The man, from the top of his 91 years, does not miss any Tango meeting.

This former milk technician lived for a long time in Sedan, before returning to Mayenne in 1987. Since all this time, you can see him in the stands of the Francis Le Basser stadium.

One of the rare matches he missed in his long career was the famous Laval-kyiv, in the round of 32 of the UEFA Cup in 1983. Venant Sochon is reassured today to see Laval again in the world of professional soccer.

The supporter hopes that his club ends up in “the soft underbelly of the Ligue 2 standings“, just to go see some more beautiful posters at Le Basser in his old Peugeot 405 next season!
