Colleges offer success courses, a way of doing holiday homework, but in a good-natured atmosphere. Example in Toul, in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
It is an atypical mathematics course for 6e and 5e. Thursday morning, on the menu, a cooking recipe, which allows to approach the notions of conversion or multiplication. Beyond the notes and the concepts covered, the idea is also to revive students who lack confidence. “I really like these courses, it allows you to have another vision of the student, they also of the teacher, it’s only positive”says a teacher.
Benefit of learning holidays
These internships are voluntary, for teachers and students. “I came because I had difficulties with Pythagoras, but suddenly I understand everything”, says a student. No in-depth study has been done to assess the benefits of these learning holidays, but after a few hours spent with these young people and these teachers, you almost want to go back to school.
