United Kingdom, Spain, Monaco… The lives of royals are punctuated by their many obligations! Stephanie from Monaco filled in a new one this weekend. She gave the start of a 100% female car race and met the drivers, delighted!
After two years of absence due to the restrictions taken against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Rallye des Gazelles is back! Its 31st edition started this weekend. Stéphanie of Monaco gave the start on Friday March 18, 2022, on the square of the Prince’s Palace in Monaco. The Monegasque princess waved the flag signaling the start of the race alongside Dominique Serra, founder and organizer of the Rallye des Gazelles. She also met the runners driving their vehicles.
Among these cars, some run on electric! The Rally has launched a new category to accommodate these vehicles in 2017, called “Rallye Aïcha des e-gazelles”. Like Stéphanie of Monaco, the mayor of the city of Nice Christian Estrosi was able to greet them and encourage them on Saturday March 19, 2022, for a second departure from the Port of Nice.
The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc is the only all-female off-road Rally-Raid in the world. Created in 1990 and unique in its kind, each edition brings together women aged 18 to 71 and of different nationalities in the Moroccan desert. The competitors set off in a different setting: no speed or GPS, but old-fashioned navigation, and only off-road stages for a return to the roots of adventure.
Stéphanie de Monaco returned to Monaco (and notably reunited with her brother, Prince Albert II of Monaco) after a short stay in Paris at the beginning of March. She had attended the parade of the Alter brand, created by her daughter Pauline Ducruet, during the last Fashion Week. The princess had notably slipped backstage to congratulate and kiss the young designer, moved to tears.
