Zaragoza (Spain) was hit by floods on Thursday July 6th. The images posted on social networks bear witness to the impressive deluge that fell on the city located in Aragon. The region was going through an extreme heat wave before being hit by a thunderstorm supercell. Hail fell first, before the rain fell. Certain arteries were immediately transformed into rivers, not even leaving time for the inhabitants to take shelter.
A storm that marked the spirits
A motorist saw the water rise to the roof of her vehicle before being rescued right in time. The storm caused no casualties, but it marked the spirits in a Spain hit hard by climate change. Friday evening, several provinces in Castile and Galicia are still on storm alert, while a new heat wave is expected for next week.
