An Iranian climber, Elnaz Rekabi, participated without wearing a hijab in an event in South Korea, in violation of the strict dress code imposed by Iran on its athletes during international competitions.

An apology was posted Oct. 18 on the climber’s Instagram. The text also indicates that she was returning to Iran with her team.
