A few days ago SOS racism wanted to know if it was more difficult to find a place on a private beach when you are black or of North African origin. The association thus carried out a “test” in Juan-les-Pins and Antibes. We see black and North African couples who are denied access on the pretext that the place is full. One hundred and fifty people worked for two months on the preparation of this “testing” by completing very comprehensive specifications.
Out of 10 beaches tested: two pinned
” Of 10 private beaches tested, two had discriminatory practices“according to Hermann Ebongue, secretary general of SOS Racisme in Paris and responsible for the development of Nice-Côte-d’Azur Committee and all the branches of the Côte d’Azur: ” We are going to file a complaint against these two beaches at the end of August, because it is important to remember that we must respect the laws of the Republic, but we also want to challenge the prefect and all local elected officials. Everyone has a role to play“.
