Solidarity with Ukraine is organized in Charente-Maritime and Charente around collections

From the first bombings of Ukraine by Russia a week ago, everywhere in Charente and Charente-Maritime there was the same movement of solidarity. Men and women: elected officials, leaders of associations or ordinary citizens have started to organize themselves to come to the practical aid of the Ukrainian people. After the support rallies, the first calls for collections, for organizational meetings were launched on social networks.

Here are the actions that we have identified and in which you can participate:

  • Saint-Genis de Saintonge: the association Smiles Ukraine 17 has launched a collection for products that will be sent on March 9 to the Ukrainian refugee camps in Poland. You can drop off the following hygiene products at the town hall of Saint-Genis-de-Saintonge before Monday March 7 at 2 p.m.: soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, diapers, feminine protection, handkerchiefs, hydroalcoholic gel, masks, wipes , dressings, foodstuffs: Coffee, tea, chocolate powder, milk, rice, pasta, brick soup, Products for children: baby food, rubber pacifiers, individual buns, toys and blankets
  • Sainte-Soulé : the Charente-Maritime Ukraine association collects first aid products (dressings, disinfectants, gauzes, bandages, pressure dressings, tourniquets, markers, scissors), hygiene products, food products (water, flour, pasta, cans), blankets, duvets, floor mats, flashlights, batteries, thermos, generators, gasoline, chain saws and children’s clothing only (7/15 years).   • Port of the boats : the town hall collects donations that will join a collection to be launched in Rochefort. You can deposit thermal blankets, sleeping bags, throws, mattresses, pillows, tents, cots, batteries, candles, torches but also hygiene products: Shower gels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, nappies, paper towels , antiseptic, masks and food products: flour, rice, sugars, preserves, animal croquettes. But don’t bring any clothes.
  • Confolens: the Confolens festival collects hygiene products, preserves, dry products. Donations should be dropped off at the festival office 3, place Emile Roux in Confolens.
  • Alley on Touvre : civil protection is organizing two collections for refugees on the border between Ukraine and Poland, and for the Lviv region in Ukraine. you can drop off products for children (diapers, children’s clothes, children’s food, bottles, pacifiers, hygiene products), medical equipment (preparation syringes and needles, emergency cervical collars, tactical bags, emergency scissors , compresses, bandages and burn dressings).
