I read with astonishment and great disappointment that Québec solidaire and the Quebec Liberal Party broke the solidarity that united them with the Quebec media. All the parties had however indicated this summer their desire to boycott Meta. They are now doing the opposite with the by-election campaign currently taking place in Jean-Talon. A broken commitment to citizens, journalists and the media.
I hope elected officials, regardless of party, stick together in the name of our democracy and the vitality of our media. I dare to hope that these parties will think about the consequences of this gesture which only adds to the cynicism of the population towards politicians. QS and PLQ, be good players and be supportive.
