In the absence of knowing the identity of the new head coach of CF Montreal, we now know the identity of his opponents in 2024.
The Montreal club unveiled its schedule for the next season on Wednesday, and indicated that Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami FC teammates will be at Saputo Stadium on May 11.
CF Montreal will receive a visit four days later from the MLS champion club, the Columbus Crew, and its head coach Wilfried Nancy.
These matches will be part of the 17 that will be presented on Montreal soil, to which will be added the 17 others away. It should be noted that CF Montreal will not play any matches at the Olympic Stadium this season.
The Olympic Park announced earlier this month that the main part of the Olympic Stadium will be closed until further notice, preventing several long-planned events from taking place — including CF Montreal matches.
The Bleu-blanc-noir will instead play its first six games on the road. His first duel will take place against Orlando City on February 24.
The Montrealers will then play in Dallas on March 2, in Miami on March 10, in Chicago on March 16, in Washington on March 30 and finally in Seattle on April 6. The team will then enjoy a week off, starting March 23.
The local opening match will be played at Saputo Stadium on April 13 against Cincinnati FC, the reigning champion team from the last MLS regular season.
Like the 2023 season, CF Montreal will play a total of 26 matches on Saturday, seven matches on Wednesday, and one match on Sunday. In addition, he will face Eastern Conference opponents on 28 occasions, and will play six games against Western opponents.
