Snowfall and freezing rain are forcing school closures in several regions of Quebec.
In Sept-Îles, in Charlevoix, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region and in the Bois-Francs sector, school service centers have decided to close the doors of schools for the day.
Weather alerts are still in effect for many areas in Quebec. The Sept-Îles and Port-Cartier region is affected by a winter storm warning.
“In total, 25 to 40 centimeters of snow are expected in these regions by Wednesday afternoon,” says Environment Canada.
The same alert is in effect for Gaspésie. Strong winds could mix with snowfall.
In the Bois-Francs sector, the freezing rain that has been falling for several hours should gradually end this morning.
