If the return to school in January is less intense than that of September in the literary world, it is still very interesting and already makes it possible to spot future readings.
For example with Jean Claude Lattes, Adrien Borne’s new novel “La vie qui commence” which is eagerly awaited. Why ? Because his previous novel, “Mémoire de Soie” was more than a success, he was awarded the Alain Fournier Prize, the City of Angoulême Prize, and the Levallois Readers Prize. For a first novel I call him back!
The story in a few words is that of a sacrificed childhood, of buried secrets who only want to find the light, and the rebirth which little by little will give life to Gabriel, a 12 year old child marked by a traumatized childhood.
A novel announced as powerful, written with modesty, by the journalist of LCI, Adrien BORNE, who hides a darker past in life, like his hero Gabriel.
We remain in the secrets with the second novel that I propose to you and which will appear on January 6: “The taste of time in the mouth” by Séverine Duval published by Robert Laffont.
The story is quite original on a theme that is however often exploited. We follow Nico, who, after having cut ties with his family, moved to Sweden. The only one with whom he maintains contact is his great-aunt Suzanne with whom he has very close ties.
The latter is preparing to celebrate its 100 years. And together they go discover the secrets of this family that have marked it for a century. A dive into memories, the past and the unspoken, which, as always, end up illuminating the future.
