On Wednesday May 15, a 71-year-old retiree shot the Slovak Prime Minister five times. He was taken, under heavy escort, to search his home during the day of May 17. With this event, Slovakia is suspended from the health bulletin of its Prime Minister. “Robert Fico was operated on again in the morning. His condition is still very serious”, declared the Slovak Deputy Prime Minister during a speech. The tragedy also caused reactions abroad, since the Polish Minister of Defense was concerned about the situation.
Northern Italy is hit by deadly floods: in Lombardy, a man who was taking photos of the flood was swept away by the floods. On the Veneto side, a bridge collapsed, but help arrived in time. “Two women were stuck in a flooded car: the soldiers managed to save them”explains Francesco Grasso, carabinieri.
