Montreal duo Hansom Ēli, formed by brother and sister Camille and Alexy Guérer, gently dazzles us with a delicate and captivating album that blends folk, R&B and indie pop. The siblings thus explore with Sip a sound universe rich in textures, where fluidity occupies a central place and when Camille Guérer’s airy singing marries Alexy’s refined production, the atmosphere that emerges is both sensual and tormented. The coherence of the album is evident throughout the tracks, which seem to follow a precise trajectory, leading the listener from a troubled tranquility to more introspective moments, almost weightless. On this subject, ORANGE, Laid And Oumamie seem to stand out in particular. This last song, as delicate as a sip of a miraculous elixir, shows the duo’s strength in crafting catchy tracks without ever sacrificing subtlety. With SipHansom Ēli reinforces his talent for creating accessible, but no less intimate, melodies that invite you to let go.
