In the morning, the Journal revealed that Gagné would succeed Roy but not as head coach, as many expected. In the case of Nicole Bouchard, the one who acted as director of team services and media relations for several years with the Remparts, becomes the first woman in history to occupy the position of assistant general manager of a QMJHL team.

Gagné, who will be in his first experience as general manager of a QMJHL team, will now have the mandate to find the organization’s next head coach.

“For a guy from Quebec, playing in his city is a dream and I had this privilege. […] Today, I realize another dream, that of becoming the general manager of the Quebec Remparts,” commented Gagné.

The Remparts have also named Tommy Castonguay as Vice-President of Operations.
