After the orange vigilance launched by Météo-France, the storms arrived from the south on Tuesday evening and mainly affected the Ardèche. The Ardèche Cévennes, traditionally very wet, were the most affected with local cumulative rain of 50 to 80 mm, including 20 to 40 mm in a quarter of an hour. According to the Météociel site, nearly 80 liters of water per m² fell in Antraigues, around 60 at Croix de Millet, 57 mm at Gluiras and 52 at La Souche.
This Wednesday, the weather should deteriorate over the whole of Drôme and Ardèche: from early morning, stormy weather will settle in the lower Rhône valley. Sometimes violent thunderstorms are expected, with gusts of wind and hail. Locally, the intense rains could give rise to accumulations of 70 to 100 mm of water in a short time south of Drôme and Ardèche, 30 to 50 mm between Montélimar and Valence and 15 to 30 mm north of the two departments.
Four other departments are concerned by orange vigilance for this Mediterranean episode: Gard, Vaucluse, Hérault and Bouches-du-Rhône.
