Doliprane, a drug consumed by many French people, is missing in some pharmacies. The Sanofi laboratory explains that demand has been high since the winter.

Paracetamol is the best-selling drug in France, particularly with Covid-19 and the flu. As a result, some forms of Doliprane are no longer available in pharmacies. “Today, only the Doliprane one gram capsule and the Liquiz forms, which are liquid forms reserved for children, are out of stock.“, says Ségolène Blin, pharmacist at the Carré Opéra (Paris).

The Sanofi laboratory explains that demand has increased since this winter, which is lengthening delivery times. However, a return to normal is expected in June. In the meantime, alternatives exist such as Dafalgan or Efferalgan, which are also paracetamol. “There is no problem with the active ingredient, the active ingredient is paracetamol (…), it is purchased from factories in the United States and China“, explains Philippe Besset, president of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Unions of France.
