Sherbrooke | Divers from the Sûreté du Québec search for a missing man

(Montreal) Divers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) as well as the police force’s helicopter were deployed Sunday morning to participate in the search for a 55-year-old man who disappeared the day before in Sherbrooke.

Around 2 p.m. Saturday, a woman contacted the Sherbrooke City Police Department (SPS) to report the disappearance of her partner, who had gone for a walk with his dog in the morning, behind 80 Moulton Hill Road.

During preliminary searches, SPS police officers found items belonging to the missing man on the ice of the Saint-François River.

A command post has been set up in the area. In addition to the divers, around fifteen SPS agents were on site Sunday morning to participate in the search.
