Serious accident in Chertsey: a septuagenarian loses her life

A road accident involving three vehicles left one dead and two injured on Friday morning in Chertsey, in the Lanaudière region.

The collision occurred around 10:15 a.m., when a driver tried to enter Route 125 from a parking lot.

His car would then have been hit by a vehicle which was coming in a southerly direction. The force of the impact threw the woman’s car into the oncoming lane, where she was struck by a second vehicle.

The driver, whose car was hit twice, was taken to hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead. The victim is in her 70s, but her identity has not yet been released by authorities.

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved escaped with relatively minor injuries in the circumstances.

Route 125 was completely closed to traffic between 4e Rang Ouest and Chemin Marie-Reine-des-Cœurs for part of the day, to allow a collision investigation specialist from the Sûreté du Québec to do his job. .

The road was finally reopened around 3 p.m.
