On March 25, during the “megabassines” demonstration in Sainte-Soline, Serge D. was shot in the head by a grenade. Coma, resuscitation, rehabilitation punctuate his life since. For the first time, the Toulousain speaks, evoking an improvement in his state of health
Almost three months after the grenade attack he suffered, Serge gives some rather reassuring news. As a reminder, on March 25, the young Toulousain took part in the demonstrations against the “megabassines”, in Sainte-Soline. After being shot in the head by a grenade, he suffered a serious head trauma, which put him in a situation of absolute emergency. If a few weeks ago, his parents gave little reassuring news, the 32-year-old Toulousain speaks today, and the news is good.
After a month in an artificial coma and six weeks in intensive care, Serge was transferred to a neurosurgery department, before going to a rehabilitation center. “Right now, I feel huge progress in my ability to move, eat and just talk and think. The road will be extremely long, but I am determined to give it my all, to fight to recover what constituted me both physically and mentally.“
By the voice of this press release, the young man from Toulouse thanks those who treated him and gave him “allowed to stay alive”. But, past the moment of festivities, Serge does not lose the thread of his convictions, and quickly, his speech resumes his fight. “All this reminds us that it is essential that no beating, no jailing, no mutilation, no murder be passed over in silence by the forces of the capitalist social order“. Serge D is therefore determined to continue his anti-capitalist fight.
