“Security goes through an armed municipal police”

Good but could do better. This, in summary, is what the Autonomous Federation of the Municipal Police is saying in the Gard, after the announcements of the Occitanie Region. The latter, in fact, retained 40 municipalities
to help them improve their security. The overall envelope amounts to 1 million euros. A sum that will be used, for example, for the purchase of new vehicles or bullet-proof vests, but not for the purchase of firearms. “If we want to ensure the safety of our fellow citizens, the Municipality must be armed”estimates Jean-Michel Weiss, secretary general of the autonomous Federation Hérault-Gard and who does not hide his disappointment, this Wednesday morning, on France Bleu Gard-Lozère (FBGL).

Still on FBGL, Fabrice Verdier, vice-president of the Regional Council of Occitanie, also 1st deputy mayor of Uzès, has indeed confirmed that he was not No way
