One degree less can lower the energy bill by 7%. A dual economic and ecological interest that some companies have understood.
La Défense, Europe’s leading business district, is above all a place of business. For six months, the trend has been towards energy savings. Some large groups have taken the lead. One of the companies is thus hunting down waste with presence sensors and stopping the air conditioning at 6 p.m. h. To avoid heating empty spaces, employees are encouraged to work together. With these small gestures, the company has already achieved 20% energy savings in one year.
This winter, it will probably be necessary to provide even more effort. “Where we used to have 21°C in winter, we will drop to 20°C (…) Going from 21 to 20 is a 7% energy saving”, explains Astrid Weill, Deputy Managing Director of Groupama Immobilier. This represents approximately 10,000 euros in savings per year. Employees even receive a bonus in the event of good energy results.
