Who blames Nathalie, her husband, Léon the dachshund and Phiphi the cat? According to France Bleu Périgord, these residents of Bergerac, in Dordogne, twice found “trapped sausages” thrown into the garden of this house. The couple, who run a bed and breakfast in the Madeleine district, alerted the police after discovering these knacks filled with nails.
During the weekend of September 28 and 29, early in the morning, the couple assures that someone threw these sausages “cut into small pieces, each stuck with a nail“into their garden through the high gate of the house.”We had English guests and it was a close call: their dog could have fallen on them.“, regrets Nathalie at the microphone of France Bleu Périgord.
Intimidations that are all the more complicated to understand for the couple, who claim to be the only ones targeted by these trapped sausages. She says she especially fears for the health of her eleven-year-old dog: “Léon, he’s an adorable father, he almost never barks! It’s a gratuitous, mean act… We don’t understand who can blame us”asks the resident.
Nathalie also shared her experience on social networks. “Almost 2,000 shares, I didn’t expect so much support. There are even some who want to form a militia“, wonders Nathalie at the microphone of France Bleu Périgord. In the meantime, Nathalie’s husband makes regular rounds in the garden, to check that nothing suspicious has fallen inside. The couple has carefully kept the knacks in bags in the freezer: “evidence”if we ever catch the mysterious knack thrower.
A modus operandi which is reminiscent of Gerstheim, in Bas-Rhin: in 2022, for several months, the inhabitants of this town regularly found razor or cutter blades hidden in dog food. Complaints had been filed.
