Norris gives Senators victory in shootout

Josh Norris scored the key shootout goal and the Ottawa Senators defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Saturday in the NHL Global Series.

Swede Erik Brannstrom was the other scorer for the Senators, while Marco Rossi responded for the Wild.

Two Swedes defended the nets. The victory went to Anton Forsberg, author of 24 saves. Filip Gustavsson stopped 30 shots.

Earlier this week, Ottawa defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-4 in overtime, also in Stockholm.

Undefeated for three games, the Senators will not play again until Friday. They will then host the New York Islanders.

The ceremonial puck drop was made by Hall of Famer Daniel Alfredsson.

Wild forward Frédérick Gaudreau was sidelined with an upper body injury.

The Global Series will conclude on Sunday, when the Wild will face the Toronto Maple Leafs.
