(San Salvador) Tropical Storm bonnywhich is moving on the Pacific coast of Central America, caused one death and material damage in El Salvador on Saturday but the accompanying heavy rains eased on Sunday.

The deceased victim is a 24-year-old young woman, according to the emergency services.
In this country of 6.7 million people, the storm left in its wake felled trees, flooded rivers, flooded streets, hospitals and homes.

” bonny generated very heavy rains and thunderstorms in the coastal area, the volcanic mountain range and the metropolitan area of San Salvador, with strong winds and hail in some areas,” the Ministry of the Environment said.
According to Interior Minister Juan Carlos Bidegaín, 250 people had to be relocated to San Salvador.
Early Sunday morning, the rains were already easing in the 20,742km country2of which 87% of the territory is vulnerable to floods and landslides.

bonnywhich formed in the Caribbean, made landfall overnight from Friday to Saturday between Nicaragua and Costa Rica without leaving major damage, according to initial reports.
According to the latest update from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), the storm was moving west at 28 km/h, with winds of 95 km/h.
