A 19-year-old man was reportedly found Wednesday evening in a semi-conscious state after being injured by a stab, in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension district.
The attack occurred near a business located at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Michel and Rue de Louvain Est. Numerous calls were made to 911 around 8:30 p.m., said agent Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
The victim, injured in the upper body, was quickly transported to a hospital, but the SPVM did not have any new information on his state of health until late Wednesday.
“According to the first information obtained, the victim could have been injured by a sharp object by one or more suspects who fled before the arrival of the police,” said Mme Drouin. No arrests had been made at the time of writing.
A security perimeter was set up on Boulevard Saint-Michel, at the location where the victim was found. The canine squad was dispatched to the site and investigators will try to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the event.
