Saint-Henri | An inhabited building collapses

A three-story building with three apartments collapsed Monday afternoon in the Saint-Henri district of Montreal, without causing any casualties.


The building is located on Cazelais Street, near the Ville-Marie highway and the McGill University Health Centre.

Firefighters were called around 1:30 p.m., according to Montreal Fire Department spokesperson Georges Bele. “We were happy that there were no victims,” ​​Bele said. Firefighters were able to secure the area before leaving around 4 p.m.

Work was taking place to the west of the building, in a former parking lot. However, the firefighters refuse to formally comment on the causes of this accident.
