Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean | A 60-year-old dies in a mountain bike accident

(Saint-François-De-Sales) A ​​60-year-old man lost his life on Monday afternoon when he got stuck under his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) after losing control of the machine in Saint -François-de-Sales, in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.


According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the sexagenarian was alone on his mountain bike at the time of the event. However, at a certain point, relatives who accompanied him realized that he was no longer following the group. They therefore turned around and discovered the man who was stuck under his ATV, around 4:45 p.m., on the way to Lac des Bouleaux.

“The man allegedly swerved down a slope, then rolled over, before getting stuck under his mountain bike. He was transported to the hospital, where unfortunately his death was confirmed, ”explained Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the SQ.

A patrol officer trained in collision investigations has been assigned to the scene and the investigation is continuing.
