The Renaissance deputy and president of the Laws Committee at the National Assembly, Sacha Houlié, denounced Sunday November 26 on franceinfo the “political responsibility, particularly on the far right, notably of the National Rally, for the disturbances to public order that we observed yesterday in Romans-sur-Isère”after the raid of far-right activists on Saturday November 25 in the evening in the Monnaie district, a week after the murder of Thomas in Crépol.

This Saturday evening, around 80 far-right activists marched through the streets of the popular Monnaie district in Romans-sur-Isère. Police arrested 20 people, 17 of whom were taken into custody “following violence against the police”. A 20-year-old man from the ranks of the extreme right was hospitalized.

“It’s pathetic”

“We have a duty to be outraged” after the death of Thomas, “but not the right to make it a political affair for one’s own benefit. It’s pathetic”castigated Sacha Houlié. “Making the murder of a young person part of one’s political capital, supporting or justifying mobilizations and clashes between young people from the neighborhoods and far-right movements, that contributes to the disorder in our society”defended Sacha Houlié.
