Helmets, food rations and even missiles recovered after the Russian withdrawal are on display in a museum in kyiv (Ukraine).
A church bombed at the start of the war displays authentic objects recovered from areas north of kyiv (Ukraine), which was still occupied by the Russian army last April. For visitors, it is a question of better understanding what really happened. The organizers seek to expose the Russian aggressor. “We want to shock people and show the reality of this war”explains Yuriy Savchuk, curator of the “Ukraine-crucifixion” exhibition.
We thus discover the weapons abandoned by the enemy during the failed offensive on the Ukrainian capital and the shells that fell on kyiv and the surrounding area. Personal notes and passports also testify to the youth of the Russian soldiers sent to the front. The exhibition also shows destroyed Ukrainian heritage, such as a canvas or a World War II memorial, broken like so many other works of art.
