Russia confirmed on Friday that it had carried out a strike the day before with “high precision” weapons against Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, in the midst of a visit by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
“Russian forces have destroyed with long-range high-precision weapons the workshops of the space company Artyom in the city of Kyiv,” said the Russian Ministry of Defense, during a briefing.
This is the first bombardment in kyiv since mid-April. It came after the UN boss traveled Thursday to Boutcha and other suburbs of Kyiv – theaters of alleged abuses attributed by the Ukrainians to Russian forces who deny their involvement.
The Russian army also destroyed Thursday with “high precision missiles” “three power stations located near railway nodes”, in particular in Fastov in the Kyiv region, according to the ministry.
