Rouen: “forward the stories” with the Playmobil festival

It is the unmissable event for Playmobil enthusiasts. The fifth edition of the festival started on Wednesday. It ends this Sunday at 5 p.m. and takes place at the Halle aux toiles in Rouen. More than 3,000 visitors, young and old alike, walked the aisles to meet the little characters.

In the aisles, children have stars in their eyes. They feel right at home. “I have pirates, knights and also Scooby-Doo“, says Philéas, 3 years old. Playmobils in the shape of animals, objects, different characters, these little toys are as popular as ever.

I prefer to play with my friends. We invent stories, we have lots of ideas. We tell ourselves that there is a couple with two children, that they are there with their friends to play, to eat, it amuses us“, says Manon, 11 years old. For his part, Tristan does not hesitate to mix universes.”I happen to create stories with police cars and pharaohs“, smiles the 11-year-old boy.

In the aisles, the battle of Teutobourg is reconstructed from scratch by Jean-Paul Turquois. Hundreds of details, characters, crossbows, catapults. “In 9 AD, the Romans were stuck between Germanic troops who crushed them for several kilometers“, says this enthusiast of Playmobil.

“_These toys are popular. Parents played with them, children still play them now. Playmobil has been around for more than 45 years and it is still very successful. There are 38 different universes”, concludes Jean-Paul Turquois.
