In Romania, one of the last primary forests in Europe is threatened by a series of looting. The teams of JT of 19/20 went there to report the extent of the damage.

In one of the largest forests in the world and moon of the oldest, in Romania, the time has come for concern. This lung of Europe is very threatened. Indeed, 27 hectares of this forest disappeared last year, the equivalent of the forest of Fontainebleau. A treasure of biodiversity which is now under the threat of international trafficking.

“A colleague has just informed us of a truck which passed with wood which is not declared”, Explain Mircea Barbu, activist of the NGO Agent Green. The latter stopped a truck carrying timber without being authorized to do so. However, he explains that trucks like these are invading the streets of Romania. A traffic which weighs hundreds of millions of euros and which has a gigantic impact on the environment.
