Roberto Alagna and his wife Aleksandra, an accomplice duo opposite Jane Birkin in Le Grand Échiquier

This Friday, April 29, 2022, The Grand Chessboard is back for a new number, still with Claire Chazal at the helm. After putting Molière in the spotlight on the show on January 21, it is love that will be celebrated on France 3 for this new major cultural event.

It’s a theme that speaks to everyone that the popular 65-year-old presenter and journalist wanted to address in The Grand Chessboard. Claire Chazal returned to the love stories that nourish literature, cinema, music and dance. For the occasion, she was surrounded by conductor Nicolas Guiraud and his orchestra. And throughout the evening, the former companion of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor received exceptional guests from all generations in order to offer “rare excerpts from live shows“.

Also, viewers will have the pleasure of seeing on stage alone and then together Jane Birkin and Michel Jonasz. Roberto Alagna meanwhile had the pleasure of sharing the stage with his wife Aleksandra Kurzak. It is also the emblematic French tenor – who is expected in the musical al Capone – and the Polish soprano who opened the ball with one of the most beautiful love duets, an extract from the Bohemia of Puccini created in 1896. The public will also see the rising stars of song Crystal Murray and Fishbach, the dancers of the Paris Opera Ludmila Pagliero and Germain Louvet for a pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet and piano prodigy Sofiane Pamart.

That’s not all ! To accompany her, Claire Chazal also called on the novelists Frederic Beigbeder and Nina Bouraoui, the actor and director Nicolas Maury and one of the best guitarists: Thibault Cauvin. Without forgetting the presence of Manu Katché as well as the Israeli dancer and choreographer Daniell Alnuma who offered a twirling moment.

A program to discover this Friday, April 29, 2022, from 9:10 p.m.
