On Saturday, Bayern Munich announced that they had reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer to Catalonia of their star striker, ending two months of endless negotiations between the two clubs for the player’s arrival in Barcelona, at Bayern since 2014.
According to the press, Barca will pay 45 million euros and 5 million euros in possible bonuses to Bayern to release Lewandowski from his last year of contract and sign him for four years.
The Polish striker is FC Barcelona’s fourth summer recruit, after Franck Kessié (AC Milan) and Andreas Christensen (Chelsea), who arrived free, and Raphinha (Leeds), recruited for 70 million euros. The club has also extended the contract of Ousmane Dembélé, who is committed until 2024.
