The accident took place around 2 p.m. Monday on route 155 south, which notably links La Tuque to Trois-Rivières, in Mauricie.

A motorcyclist was riding in the company of at least one other person when he lost control of his motorcycle for an unknown reason, said agent Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

He was unconscious when emergency services arrived, but regained consciousness on being transported to hospital with serious injuries.

His life would not be in danger, however, said agent Scholtus.

A police officer specializing in collision investigation was dispatched to the scene to shed light on the causes of the accident. Traffic on Route 155 alternated for the duration of the investigation.
