The RN claims on Tuesday July 2 to have passed the 100,000 member mark, franceinfo learned from the National Rally.
As a reminder, at the end of 2017, an article in Libération mentioned the fact that Marine Le Pen – then president of the party – was already claiming the figure of 100,000 members. A figure which contradicted that given by the secretary general of the party who at the same time claimed a little over 51,000 members with up-to-date subscriptions. “The National Front currently has just over 51,000 members with up-to-date subscriptions. A figure almost half the 100,000 claimed by Marine Le Pen in mid-October.”wrote our colleagues at Libération in 2017.
As a reminder, the RN came out on top in the first round of the legislative elections on June 30 with 33.15% of the vote, or more than 10 million voters, ahead of the New Popular Front (27.99%) and far ahead of the presidential camp (20.04%).
