On December 27, 2020, one year ago to the day, France launched its vaccination campaign against Covid-19. Since then, more than 50 million injections have been performed.

A year ago, Mauricette, 78, became the first Frenchwoman to receive a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. First opened in nursing homes and for the most vulnerable, the deployment of the vaccination campaign has been done gradually. But in the spring, there were still many reticent. The introduction by the government of a health pass in July relaunched the vaccination campaign.

Today, 77% of French people are fully vaccinated, a rate that rises to 98% in the seventies, the most protected age group. At stake now is the recall campaign. Nearly 22 million French people have already received a third dose. Many people flock to the vaccination centers so as not to lose the validity of their pass. In early December, vaccination was also opened to children under the age of twelve. In Europe, France is one of the countries where the population is the most vaccinated, behind Spain and Italy.
