She has not yet been officially inaugurated for the American presidential election, but it is close. Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris seems to be the best placed to replace Joe Biden. She has just raised $81 million in one day and is now a target for Donald Trump and all his Republican supporters. In Deale, Maryland, Chris is an entrepreneur and welcomes the rise of Kamala Harris with great irony. “Oh yes I am very confident about this election because now we are running against a real idiot,” he says, before following up with a sexist remark.
“She doesn’t have what it takes to be a politician. Harris is a woman, she doesn’t think about things when she says them. She says so many stupid things in her speeches, it’s like she has no idea.”Chris continues.
In this residential area, Kenny’s house attracts attention with its pro-Trump signs and a large red helmet with the Trump logo “Make America Great Again”. “It’s also on the roof of my golf cart, I paraded it around town. Some like it, some don’t, but most in the community appreciate it,” he swears. With a toothpick in his mouth, he hates Joe Biden and has a racist message for the potential Democratic candidate: “I wish her luck. They threw Joe out, Kamala is here now, she’s the new fresh meat.”
“You’re going to have different nationalities voting for her, illegal immigrants, that’s the strategy.”

Kamala Harris, reduced to her gender and her Afro-Asian origins, would be nothing more than a puppet according to him. Hope of the Democrats, she does not however worry these Republicans, like Steve. “She and Biden are responsible for these last three years of rivalry, so whether it’s Biden or Harris, I don’t think it would make any difference against Trump. The way Republicans and Democrats look at America is completely different,” he assures.
Steve wants tighter borders and a stronger military. No matter who the candidate is, for these voters, Trump will win.
