Report on COVID-19 in Quebec as of May 27, 2022

Quebec reports 10 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Friday, as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

There are now 1,288 hospitalizations, a decrease of 27 compared to Thursday. There are 36 people in intensive care, a decrease of seven.

A total of 4,039 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now reaches 15,400.

The Ministry of Health reports 590 new cases, for a total of 1,064,331 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 212,368 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 174,089 positives. For Thursday, 191 tests were reported, including 162 positive.

The Ministry of Health says it carried out 11,276 analyzes on Thursday and a positivity rate of 6.6%.

In terms of vaccination, 9,702 doses administered are added, that is 9,416 in the last 24 hours and 286 before May 26.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 14% received a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 41% received a fourth dose.
