Younes is a storyteller. His first album “Remarkable Identity” opens a new chapter, that of a boy who questions his place in the world, of an artist looking for his way. With always his truth at the edge of the lips.
His doubts and fears about music, his relationship to his Algerian origins… Scattered with vocal notes, fragments of life, the project focus on introspection and storytelling. But the strength of the album lies in its most frontal and political tracks, such as the second single “Entre Nous”, which does not hesitate to tackle the painful question of sexual violence against women. Immigration, police violence, social classes… Younès unvarnishedly depicts the failings ofa sick French society and sends the labels flying.
With “Remarkable Identity”, Younès makes his difference his greatest strength and delivers a project of dazzling lucidity. He thus signs the return to favor of rappers who have substance. The formula, Younès summarizes it as follows: “I did what I knew how to do. With the heart”.
