Stuck in the bottom of the Top 14, Toulon had no choice and had to react, under penalty of seeing the top 6 move away. But against La Rochelle, the Var were only a shadow of themselves, once again. Faced with an impeccable West at the foot and in all the good shots, Nakarawa’s teammates took the tide and lost 39 to 6. A defeat which placed them in 13th place in the Top 14. La Rochelle goes back to 5th place and s’ clings to its European spot.
