Belgium and Lotte Kopecky once again on the roof of the world. In Zurich, the riders faced 154 km and five climbs in total to try to obtain the title of world champion, Saturday September 28. However, in greater numbers in the final of the race, the Dutch did not manage to take the lead. At the start of the sprint, the favorite Demi Vollering and the Italian Elisa Longo Borghini tried to surprise the small leading group, but Lotte Kopecky was the fastest to win her second consecutive world title.
The race was more delicate for the French women. The Tricolores fell behind, despite an attack from Juliette Labous 43 km from the finish. She finished three minutes after Lotte Kopecky and ranked 12th. Second Frenchwoman, Évita Muzic finished in 26th place. For her return to the road, Olympic mountain bike champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot gave up halfway through the race.
Relive the race.
