Slovenian Tadej Pogacar won the 7th stage of the Tour de France on Friday.

Tadej Pogacar gets a taste for victory. The Slovenian was again untenable in the 7th stage of the Tour de France 2022 which arrived at the top of the Super Planche des Belles Filles on Friday July 8. The favorites temporized in the final climb, before finally revealing themselves under the red flame. Lennard Kämna (Bora-Hansgrohe), last survivor of the morning breakaway, paid the price for this acceleration of the yellow jersey after a last stint from his teammate Rafal Majka (UAE Team Emirates).

Fourth, the German time trial champion was caught by Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) and Tadej Pogacar in the last 50 meters of the stage. If Jonas Vingegaard overtook Tadej Pogacar in the most difficult passages of this final climb (24%), he faltered in the last hectometres. After its success in Longwy, the yellow jersey won its second stage in two days.

Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) took fifth place in the stage, just ahead of David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ, 6th), Enric Mas (Movistar, 7th) and Romain Bardet (Team DSM, 8th).
