• The humanitarian ship ocean viking docked at the military port of Toulon from where the 230 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean off the coast of Libya are to disembark. The head of the Italian government, Giorgia Meloni, denounced a French reaction “aggressive, incomprehensible and unjustified”, after Paris announced retaliatory measures against Rome for refusing to dock the ship. •The Russian army has announced that it has completed its retreat from the northern Ukrainian region of Kherson, another bitter setback after almost nine months of military campaign in Ukraine. In addition, at least four people were killed and several injured last night in a missile strike on a residential building in the city of Mykolaiv, in southern Ukraine. Follow our live.
• The man suspected of having stabbed a policeman to death last night in Brussels is a former prisoner, convicted for common law offenses. He was on file with the Belgian body for analyzing the terrorist threat (Ocam), announced the federal prosecutor’s office.
