Reims Stadium | Performance manager dismissed after too many club injuries

The exit of striker Hugo Ekitike through injury on Sunday at Auguste-Delaune resembles the water drop which makes the vase overflow. The Reims striker joins the long list of injured Stade de Reims this winter. The club therefore decided to fire Barthélémy Delecroix, the performance manager this Monday, February 21, according to information from our colleagues in the newspaper the team, which we can confirm. He was removed from office.

Stéphane Caterina as a replacement?

Barthélémy Delecroix arrived in June 2020 at the Stade de Reims, after a stint as head of performance for the French Football Federation. He had replaced Laurent Bessière at the time, himself gone to Lens. Barthélémy Delecroix’s role was to organize the physical preparation of the Reims players. Holder of a doctorate in Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities, Barthelemy Delecroix was then attached to the French teams, it was he who had prepared the U17 team, third in the last U17 World Cup in Brazil in November 2019.

He could be replaced internally by the current performance manager of the pro 2 group, Stephane Caterina.
