Last year, Reims Polar had not taken place in a conventional way, like many festivals; the pandemic having forced the organization to set up a “virtual” edition. For his return to a “real” edition, Reims Polar has therefore decided to mark the spirits, by inviting several current big names in detective cinema.
Prestigious guests
Walter Hill, Rodrigo Sorogoyen and Martin Campbell will therefore be the three filmmakers in question. Lovers of action thrillers as lovers of more psychological thrillers will find their happiness there!
Walter Hill notably directed the Warriors of the Night, before launch Eddie Murphy’s career with 48 hours and 48 hours more. We also owe him Double Detent, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Belushi.
Martin Campbellfor his part, has produced two of the opuses of the james bond saganamely GoldenEye and Casino Royale. Hands-on directorwe also owe him the Mask of Zorro (with Antonio Banderas), several episodes of The Professionals and The Protégé (with Maggie Q).
Rodrigo Sorogoyenmeanwhile, is a young prodigy Spanish who focuses above all on the history and the depth of each of the protagonists of his films. We owe him in particular El Reino and Que Dios nos perdone as well as the Antidisturbios series. He is part of new spanish authors to be continued. And his presence is all the more appreciated as thetribute to the Spanish thriller is the main theme of this 2022 edition.
